SO, We have decided to take a road trip next march to Austin, TX. Why? Don't be stupid... that is where South By Southwest (sxsw) is held. The Coolest Music conference in the world. my opinion.. and how do I know this? Back in the TRUSTcompany day, our very first major label show was in Austin During SXSW at STUBBS BBQ... yes the same BBQ sauce you get at the store, well they have a killer Restaurant with a music venue out back. it can hold like 3 or 4 thousand people. That night on the bill was opener 30 seconds to Mars, TRUSTcompany and Puddle of Mudd. The Show was unforgettable! To this day I always wanted to go back there and experience it without the hassle of being in a band and having to have to be somewhere and leave right after the show.. so Next year David, Asheley, Myself and whoever else we can get to tag along, will make a trip in a van from Alabama to Texas where we will document the journey and we will be doing mini acoustic sessions with some awesome Indie bands. SO if you know of any bands that will be there.. let me know Josh@MuchNoise.com before next march so we can set that up. Would love to get some bands to do a few songs for the site live from their van, car or whatever.

A few months ago we had the privilege to shoot a really awesome Atlanta, Ga. band Ocean Is Theory in our studio (The Brick Room). Lets just say this song and video is amazing. Killer vocals with great harmonies and I love bands that can sing. We have a Featured Band Windows Desktop Gadget now. It’s similar to the iGoogle gadget I posted about a few weeks ago. The Featured Band gadget is a small music player that sits on your desktop or sidebar (Windows 7 or Vista only) and will feature a new band from our site every day so you can listen to all their songs. We used to call it “Band of the Day” but admittedly, that kind of sucked. So I changed it to "Featured Band". Josh is supposed to be in charge of “cool” on the site but I guess he let that one slip through the cracks.

Anyway, this one is going to be big. It just launched yesterday and already has over 100 downloads. We try to give most bands a chance to be featured. A new band is chosen every day from the top 50% ranked bands. It doesn’t take much to get there. The best way is link to your profile so your fans will come and rate your music. Also, you must have a profile picture to be considered, just to keep it looking nice.
