Fire Mountain makes real music. That’s it. They take folk and rock music sensibilities and combine them into something more, something that you can’t put your finger on. It’s just something that feels right and real. Fire Mountain writes songs about the struggles, triumphs, and questions in life that everyone can relate to. Their songs contain, as listeners describe, “a universal message.” Fire Mountain has been influenced by and compared to: Fleet Foxes, Ray Lamontagne, Iron & Wine, Damien Rice, and Wilco.

Fire Mountain is releasing their second EP, Of the Dust, in November 2011. Of the Dust is a meticulously crafted collection of songs that explores mankind's struggle with fear on a personal level. It was recorded in Nashville, TN and displays an exponential maturation and honing of Fire Mountain's sound.

The goal of Fire Mountain is to produce music that people can really connect with and are willing to share with others. This is evident because the band's sound has been catching on with others around the state of Alabama. Fire Mountain has played shows all across the southeast in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Fire Mountain was formed in Troy, Alabama in the fall of 2009 by Perry Brown. Perry has been writing and recording music for nearly a decade and has been involved in many bands and musical projects. Perry is the main song-writer, singer, and rhythm guitar player for Fire Mountain. Joining Perry in Fire Mountain are his in credibly talented bandmates: Adam Vinson on percussion, Walter Black on bass guitar, and Bryan Segraves on the keys. Fire Mountain is currently playing live shows as a four-piece acoustic band comprised of acoustic guitars, bass, djembe, and keyboard.
